The beautiful Carnival Dream, looking perfect in Cozumel, Mexico! 🚢
We dive into everything from the ship’s age, addressing if a vessel from 2009 feels old or worn out, and if there are enough sun loungers, hot tubs, and pool space to go around. We also tackle the question of our Deluxe Oceanview stateroom #1402 and whether having two washrooms is overkill or a game-changer. 🤯 We get into the practical details on the Carnival Dream, including the number of plugs in the cabin and our experience with the ship’s laundry facilities and their costs. 🧺
We also give you our honest opinion on the complimentary food options, the variety, and our take on the Carnival Dream’stheater and its sightlines. 🎭 We cover what our view from Deck 1 was like, whether the AC kept the cabin cool enough, and if the crowds felt too busy in the common areas. 👫

Our incredible 7-night journey aboard the Grand Princess is coming to a close as we sail through Alaska’s breathtaking Inside Passage back to Vancouver. Day 7 was a perfect mix of relaxation, entertainment, and behind-the-scenes experiences that made for a memorable final day at sea.
We started the morning with a delicious breakfast in Botticelli’s Dining Room before attending a fun and lively culinary demonstration that had us laughing and learning new cooking tips. A special moment came as we honored the hardworking kitchen and wait staff who made our cruise so enjoyable. Next, we took an exclusive galley tour to see the ship’s behind-the-scenes operations, truly fascinating for any cruise enthusiast.
Throughout the day, we admired the beautiful cakes displayed at the buffet, enjoyed a classic pub lunch featuring fish and chips, and watched a lively juggling show in the Piazza. Our evening was capped off with one last fantastic dinner in Botticelli’s, followed by the Grand Princess Farewell Variety Show in the Princess Theatre, a perfect celebration of the voyage and the memories made.
Sailing through the Inside Passage, even on a gray day, offers stunning views of mountains, islands, and wildlife that remind us why Alaska cruising is such a popular adventure.

Our Alaskan adventure aboard the Grand Princess continued with Day 6 taking us to the charming waterfront town of Ketchikan, Alaska 🐟. Known as the “Salmon Capital of the World” and rich in Native culture and Gold Rush history, Ketchikan is a favorite stop for many cruise travelers 🌲.
For this port day, we decided to experience the Ketchikan Duck Tour 🦆, a fun and unique amphibious excursion that takes you both on land and into the water 🌊 for an unforgettable sightseeing adventure. This narrated 90-minute tour gave us a fantastic overview of the city’s highlights, including Creek Street and the Salmon Ladder 📸. As the Duck vehicle rolled down the streets and then splashed into the harbor, we got incredible views of Ketchikan from both perspectives 😍.
After the tour, we spent some time exploring downtown Ketchikan before hiking up to Knob Hill Overlook, where we enjoyed stunning views of the town and harbor 🏞️. We also stopped to take photos under the famous Ketchikan sign 📷 and soaked in the vibrant local atmosphere.
Back on board the Grand Princess, we wrapped up the evening with a delicious dinner 🍽️ and the high-energy “British Invasion” show 🎶 in the Princess Theater.
From the charming streets to the sparkling harbor views ✨, Ketchikan and the Duck Tour made for a memorable Day 6 of our cruise. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning, this excursion is a fantastic way to see it all while having a great time 🤩.

If you’re planning a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas and considering an Ocean View cabin, you’re in the right place. In this post, we’re featuring Cabin 2558, a stateroom located on Deck 2 with a rare adjoining door—perfect for families or groups traveling together.
We’ve created a full video tour so you can see exactly what to expect from this stateroom. 🎥 Watch it here
Cabin 2558 Overview
Located on the port side near the front of Deck 2, Cabin 2558 is a standard Ocean View stateroom with a few standout features. The large window provides great natural light and a scenic view of the ocean—ideal if you want the brightness of a balcony room without the higher price.
One of the most unique aspects of this room is the adjoining door, which connects it to the neighboring cabin. This makes it an excellent option for families or groups booking multiple cabins who want easy access between rooms without going into the hallway.
Inside the Cabin: What You Get
Cabin 2558 includes all the essentials for a comfortable stay:
A king-sized bed that can be split into two twin beds
A flat-screen TV with access to ship information and entertainment
A vanity/desk area with lighting and a mirror
Plenty of storage space, including drawers, shelves, and a closet
A compact but functional bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet
You’ll also find a large window positioned right at the head of the bed, making it a cozy spot to relax and take in the ocean view. The room is well laid out and makes smart use of space, especially for a Deck 2 cabin.
Who Should Book This Cabin?
If you’re cruising with family or friends and need connecting cabins, this is one of the few options available on Adventure of the Seas. The adjoining door is a feature not found in every room category, and it makes traveling together much more convenient.
This cabin is also ideal if you’re looking for a budget-friendly upgrade from an interior room. You still get natural light and a view, which can really enhance the cruise experience, especially on sea days.
Final Thoughts
Cabin 2558 on Adventure of the Seas is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for an Ocean View room with a little extra flexibility. The large window, clean design, and connecting room option make it a top pick for couples, families, or groups cruising together.
