10 Questions We Had Before Sailing Celebrity Solstice (Answered)

10 Questions We Had Before Sailing Celebrity Solstice (Answered)

Planning a Celebrity Solstice cruise? Before sailing on the Celebrity Solstice, we had plenty of questions about what to expect onboard. From dropping off our carry-on bags and charging our devices to formal night, complimentary dining, cabin amenities, and whether we’d sail the Celebrity Solstice again, we wanted to know the answers before stepping onboard.

After spending a week aboard the Celebrity Solstice on a 7-night Alaska cruise, we’re answering the 10 biggest questions we had before sailing. If you’d like to see everything in more detail, be sure to watch our full video below.

🎥 Watch the full video here:

1. Can You Drop Off Your Carry-On Bags Before Your Cabin Is Ready?

Yes! Shortly after boarding the Celebrity Solstice, we were allowed to leave our carry-on bags in our cabin while our stateroom attendant finished preparing the room. It made embarkation day much easier since we didn’t have to carry our bags around the ship for a couple of hours.

2. What Charging Options Are Available?

The vanity includes two North American outlets and one European outlet, while the bathroom has a shaver outlet. One pleasant surprise was discovering USB-A and USB-C charging ports beside the bed after the ship’s refurbishment. Bringing a European adapter is still a great idea for adding even more charging options.

3. Will You Get a Table for Two?

We had an assigned dining time of 8:15 in the Grand Epernay Restaurant, but we weren’t sure if we’d be seated with other guests or have our own table. To our surprise, Celebrity had already assigned us a window table for two for the entire cruise, making every dinner feel a little more special.

4. Can You Request a Fan, and Is the Cabin Cool Enough?

Our inside cabin stayed comfortable throughout our Alaska cruise, especially with the thermostat turned down. We also requested a fan through Guest Services, and one was delivered to our stateroom shortly after boarding. If you enjoy sleeping with a fan, it’s worth asking because they’re available on a first-come, first-served basis.

5. Does the Shower Have a Door, and What Amenities Are Included?

The Celebrity Solstice features an acrylic shower door instead of a shower curtain, which we really appreciated. The shower also included shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In addition, the bathroom offered liquid hand soap, body lotion, and a hair dryer, so there were fewer toiletries to pack.

6. Does Celebrity Solstice Feel Crowded?

Even though our sailing was completely sold out, the ship rarely felt crowded. We usually found seating in the buffet, elevator waits were short, and there were plenty of quiet places to relax throughout the ship.

Even on a sold-out sailing, we found plenty of space to relax around the Lido Deck.

7. What Is Chic Night Really Like?

Celebrity’s Chic Night was much more relaxed than we expected. While many guests dressed nicely, very few men wore full suits on the first Chic Night. On the second Chic Night, more passengers dressed up, and yes, complimentary lobster tail was served in the Grand Epernay Restaurant.

Chic Night in the Grand Epernay Restaurant included elegant dining and complimentary lobster tail.

8. What Complimentary Dining Is Included?

There are plenty of complimentary dining options aboard the Celebrity Solstice. During our cruise, we enjoyed the Oceanview Café buffet, Mast Grill, Sunset Park Café, Spa Café, Café Al Bacio, and the Grand Epernay Restaurant, giving us lots of variety throughout the week.

9. Can You Relax in the Buffet Between Meals?

Yes! One thing we really appreciated was being able to stop into the Oceanview Café between meal times for a coffee, lemonade, iced tea, or juice while enjoying the incredible scenery through the large windows. It became one of our favorite places to unwind.

The Oceanview Café isn’t just a great place to eat. It’s also the perfect spot to relax with a drink and enjoy the incredible Alaskan scenery between meal times.

10. Would We Sail Celebrity Solstice Again?

Absolutely. We loved the elegant atmosphere, relaxing pace, beautiful public spaces, and overall adult-focused experience. If you’re looking for a cruise that feels refined, comfortable, and relaxing, we wouldn’t hesitate to sail on the Celebrity Solstice again.

MSC Seascape Review: Our Likes & Wishes After 7 Nights

Are you considering booking a cruise on the MSC Seascape? 🌴 After spending 7 nights aboard this beautiful MSC Cruises ship on a Western Caribbean cruise from Galveston, Texas, we wanted to share our honest likes and wishes to help you decide if MSC Seascape is the right cruise ship for your next vacation.

In this review, we’re focusing on the areas that matter most to cruisers: the ship’s Layout & Amenities, our Bella Class Balcony Cabin 10024, the Free Food & Restaurants, and the Entertainment & Activities available onboard. MSC Seascape is one of the most visually stunning cruise ships we’ve sailed on, but there were also a few areas where we felt there was room for improvement.

🚢 Watch Our MSC Seascape Review

🌊 MSC Seascape Layout & Amenities

One of the first things that stood out to us aboard MSC Seascape was the ship’s design. The vessel feels modern, bright, and spacious, with plenty of beautiful public areas to explore. Throughout the week, we found ourselves constantly discovering new viewpoints, relaxing spaces, and activities.

Some of our favorite areas included:

  • Marina Pool
  • Jungle Pool
  • Pirates Cove Aquapark
  • Bridge of Sighs
  • Infinity Pool
  • Infinity Hot Tubs
  • Times Square
  • The stunning atrium

We especially enjoyed the aft areas of the ship, including the Bridge of Sighs, which offered some fantastic ocean views and a unique perspective of the ship’s wake. The Marina Pool and Jungle Pool were both great places to relax, while Pirates Cove Aquapark added plenty of family fun with waterslides and splash areas.

  • Plenty of places to relax and enjoy the ocean views

🤔 Wishes

  • No mini golf course
  • No dedicated jogging track
  • Shuffleboard required an additional fee
  • Some outdoor venues could become busy during peak times

Overall, MSC Seascape is one of the most beautiful ships we’ve sailed on and offers plenty of amenities for guests to enjoy.

🛏️ Bella Class Balcony Cabin 10024 Review

For this cruise, we stayed in Bella Class Balcony Cabin 10024 on Deck 10.

One of the biggest surprises was just how quiet this cabin was. Throughout the week, we experienced very little noise from neighboring cabins or public spaces, making it one of the quieter cruise cabins we’ve stayed in.

MSC Seascape Bella Class Balcony Cabin 10024 featuring a queen bed, couch, vanity area, television, storage space, and private balcony.
Inside our MSC Seascape Bella Class Balcony Cabin 10024, featuring a comfortable bed, couch, vanity, storage space, and private balcony during our 7-night Caribbean cruise. 🚢🌴

👍 Likes

  • Comfortable bed
  • Spacious couch
  • Good storage options
  • Functional vanity area
  • Multiple charging and power outlets
  • Quiet location
  • Modern cabin design

One of our wishes for this cabin was additional storage space, as we found the available storage somewhat limited during our 7-night cruise.

🤔 Wishes

  • Small shower
  • Cabin temperature could have been cooler
  • Metal balcony railing instead of glass
  • Limited storage space

While the balcony offered great outdoor space, the metal railing partially blocked views when seated compared to a glass balcony.

Despite those minor issues, we were very happy with the cabin overall and would gladly stay here again.

🍕 Free Food & Restaurants

Food is one of the most important parts of any cruise, and MSC Seascape offered a wide variety of complimentary dining options throughout the ship.

Marketplace Buffet

The Marketplace Buffet quickly became one of our favorite dining venues onboard.

Highlights included:

  • Fresh fruit selection 🍉
  • Excellent complimentary pizza 🍕
  • Rotating hot food stations
  • Salads and desserts
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options

We found the buffet to be one of the better cruise buffets we’ve experienced, particularly when it came to the variety and quality of the food.

Complimentary Breakfast Options

Beyond the buffet, MSC Seascape also offered complimentary breakfast at:

  • Butcher’s Cut
  • Hola! Tacos & Cantina
  • Loft Café

Having several breakfast venues available helped spread guests throughout the ship and provided some nice variety during the cruise.

Main Dining Rooms

Most of our meals in the main dining room were enjoyed at:

  • Green Wave Restaurant
  • Cala Jondal Restaurant

The dining rooms were attractive and comfortable, and we enjoyed many of the appetizers, entrées, and desserts offered throughout the week.

👍 Likes

  • Good selection of complimentary food

🤔 Wishes

We would have liked to see another complimentary food venue available on the lower decks outside of the buffet and main dining rooms, especially for guests looking for a quick snack or light meal during the day.

🎭 Entertainment & Activities

MSC Seascape offered a busy schedule of entertainment and activities throughout the cruise, helping ensure there was always something happening onboard.

Chora Theatre Shows

The Chora Theatre productions featured:

While we enjoyed the entertainment overall, we would have liked to see more variety in some of the theatre productions and the nightly entertainment offered at La Cabaret Rouge.

⚓ Final Thoughts

After spending 7 nights aboard MSC Seascape, we came away impressed by the ship’s beautiful design, enjoyable pool areas, complimentary dining options, entertainment, and welcoming atmosphere.

While there were a few areas we would improve, the positives far outweighed the negatives, and we would happily sail aboard MSC Seascape again in the future.

If you’re considering booking MSC Seascape, we hope this review helps you understand what to expect and whether this ship is the right fit for your next cruise vacation. 🚢☀️

Inside MSC Seascape balcony cabin 10024 on Deck 10, featuring a king bed, sofa, vanity area, and access to the private balcony 🚢

Located on Deck 10 on the starboard side toward the front of the ship, this cabin offers a smart layout with a surprising amount of space. One of the first things you will notice is the comfortable seating area with a full-size couch, along with plenty of storage options including a closet, drawers, and shelving throughout 🧳.

The vanity area is well designed, featuring multiple power options including North American outlets, European plugs, and USB ports, making it easy to keep all your devices charged 🔌. There is also a mini fridge, a movable coffee table, and a TV that can be adjusted for viewing from both the bed and couch.

Speaking of the bed, the king-size setup is comfortable and can be split into two twins if needed. There is also a USB port on one side of the bed, while the other side may require a battery pack if you like charging your phone overnight 📱.

Step outside and you will find a private balcony with two chairs and a footrest. This particular cabin features a steel railing and is set slightly back from the edge of the ship, giving you a different perspective while still offering great ocean views 🌊.

The bathroom includes a glass shower, which is always a nice upgrade over a curtain, along with a clothesline for drying swimsuits, shelving for toiletries, and good water pressure 🚿.

MSC Seascape Caribbean Cruise: Your Top 15 Questions Answered! 🚢⚓

Our MSC Seascape Questions Answered! (Watch Before You Sail)

Are you planning a vacation on the MSC Seascape? We sure were! Before we set sail on our 7-night Western Caribbean cruise, we had a long list of questions. Now that we’re back, we want to share exactly what we learned during our time on this stunning ship to help you prepare for your own adventure! 🌊✨

The MSC Seascape is one of the most modern and elegant vessels we’ve ever sailed on, but it definitely has some unique features that distinguish it from other cruise lines. From the brand-new terminal in Galveston to mastering the ship’s high-tech systems, there are a few things you’ll want to know before you board. 🛳️

Mastering the MSC Experience: What We Learned 🧭

One of the biggest surprises for us was the Smart Elevator system. Unlike traditional elevators, you select your floor on a touch screen before you get in. It is far more efficient, but here is a pro tip: make sure to press the button once for every person in your party so the system knows exactly how much space is needed! 📶🏃‍♂️

We also spent a lot of time exploring the Marketplace Buffet. It is one of the largest and most varied buffets we’ve seen on a ship, featuring everything from fresh pizza to international dishes. If you are looking for a quiet meal, we recommend heading all the way to the back of the ship for some great outdoor seating views. 🍕🥗

Cabin Tips and Show Reservations 🎭📱

If you are worried about charging your gear, you will be happy to know the balcony cabins are well equipped with North American plugs, European outlets, and USB ports at the vanity. However, keep in mind that bedside plugs are limited, so bringing a portable battery pack or a long charging cable is a smart move! 🔌🔋

When it comes to entertainment, the Chora Theatre shows are fantastic, but you cannot book them until you are actually on the ship. We recommend jumping on the MSC for Me app as soon as you board to grab your tickets, as the popular time slots do fill up fast. If you miss out, do not worry. Just keep checking the app for cancellations or head to the theater standby line! 🎟️✨

Final Thoughts on the Seascape 🌟

Whether you are sailing out of the new terminal in Galveston or exploring ports like Roatan and Costa Maya, the MSC Seascape offers a relaxed and elegant vibe. We absolutely loved the decor, the crystal staircases in the atrium, and the overall experience. We hope this video helps you feel more confident as you plan your own Caribbean getaway! 🌴☀️

If you are planning a cruise to Costa Maya, Mexico, finding the perfect spot to spend your port day is a top priority. On our recent trip, we headed to the Nacional Beach Club in Mahahual, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! 🌊

One of the best parts about this resort day pass is how easy it is to get there. We booked ours through Resort For A Day, which makes the whole process simple. Even better? Your taxi fare to and from the cruise port is included in the pass! You just hop in a taxi at the port, and the resort handles the payment when you arrive. 🚕

What to Expect During Your Day

Once you arrive, you are given a quick tour of the property so you know exactly where everything is. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Reserved Beach Loungers: No need to hunt for a spot. Your padded lounger and umbrella are reserved with your name on a sign right on the water! 🏖️
  • The Plunge Pool: If you need a break from the ocean, there is a beautiful plunge pool with built-in benches and tables where you can enjoy a cold drink. 🍹
  • All-Inclusive Dining: The food was a major standout. We started with a fresh fruit plate for breakfast and moved on to massive portions of fajitas and nachos for lunch. We even got to try the seasonal barbecued lobster, which was incredible! 🦞
  • Family Friendly: The water is calm and shallow, making it a great spot if you are traveling with kids. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
