If you are planning a cruise to Costa Maya, Mexico, finding the perfect spot to spend your port day is a top priority. On our recent trip, we headed to the Nacional Beach Club in Mahahual, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! 🌊

What to Expect During Your Day

  • All-Inclusive Dining: The food was a major standout. We started with a fresh fruit plate for breakfast and moved on to massive portions of fajitas and nachos for lunch. We even got to try the seasonal barbecued lobster, which was incredible! 🦞
  • Family Friendly: The water is calm and shallow, making it a great spot if you are traveling with kids. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

A Quick and Easy Walk

One of the best parts about this resort day pass is the location. It is only an eight minute walk from the Puerta Maya where most Carnival cruise ships dock. You can see the resort right from the ship! After a quick check-in, we were ready to start our day.

Snorkeling and Relaxation

The water in Cozumel is famous for its clarity, and El Cid did not disappoint. The water was calm and full of colorful fish right off the beach. If you do not have your own gear, the resort even provides complimentary snorkel sets and fins. 🐠

The snorkeling at El Cid La Ceiba was incredible. We were surrounded by schools of fish just steps away from the beach in the crystal clear Cozumel water. 🐠🌊

When we were not in the water, we were relaxing in the ocean view pools or trying out the unique water hammocks. They even have a swim up bar and a jacuzzi for ultimate relaxation.

All-Inclusive Food and Drinks

The food was a definite highlight of our resort day pass. We started with a fresh breakfast spread, but the lunch was even better. We enjoyed massive plates of beef nachos, chicken wings, and delicious fajitas. Having all of our beverages and meals included made the day completely stress-free. 🍹✨
