If you’re looking for a relaxing Roatan cruise excursion that combines a beautiful beach with excellent snorkeling, Bananarama Beach Resort on West Bay Beach may be exactly what you’re looking for.
During our Carnival Jubilee cruise, we booked the Roatan West Bay Bananarama Resort Beach Day Pass Excursion through Shore Excursioneer. At the time of booking, the excursion cost $34.99 USD per person and included round-trip transportation from the Coxen Hole cruise port, beach loungers, and access to Bananarama’s facilities, including restrooms and outdoor showers.
One of the things we really appreciated about this excursion was how simple everything was. Transportation was organized for us, the beach chairs were waiting when we arrived, and we had the flexibility to spend the day however we wanted. Whether that meant relaxing under the palm trees, snorkeling, grabbing lunch, or simply enjoying the views, it was a very easy and enjoyable beach day.

Getting to West Bay Beach
Our excursion met just outside the cruise port in Coxen Hole, where we located our transportation and boarded a shuttle for the approximately 25-minute drive to West Bay Beach.
Along the way, we had the opportunity to see more of the island before arriving at one of Roatan’s most popular beach destinations.
Once we arrived, we explored the resort, checked out the facilities, and selected our loungers for the day.
What’s Included With the Excursion?
Our excursion included:
- Round-trip transportation
- Beach loungers
- Restrooms
- Outdoor showers
Food, beverages, towels, and snorkeling equipment were not included, although all of these were available for an additional cost.
During our visit, we noticed several optional amenities, including:
- Locker rentals for $5
- Soft drinks for $3
- Pizza ranging from $8 to $14
- Snorkeling equipment available for rent near the dive shop
Snorkeling at West Bay Beach
The biggest reason we booked this excursion was the snorkeling.
We brought our own snorkeling equipment from home, although we noticed several rental options near the beach. After settling in, we made our way toward the far end of West Bay Beach near the rock formations and Tabyana Beach.
The snorkeling didn’t disappoint.
We spotted a variety of tropical fish while exploring the reefs just offshore, and the water was warm and easy to enter.

Based on our experience and recommendations from others, the snorkeling near the far end of the beach offered some of the best underwater scenery in the area.
Our Overall Thoughts
Unfortunately, changing weather shortened our day a little earlier than expected.
Fortunately, our driver gave us the option of staying longer or returning early, which gave us some flexibility.
Even with the rain moving in, we still had a fantastic experience.
If you’re visiting Roatan on a cruise and want an excursion that combines beautiful beaches, excellent snorkeling, and a relaxing atmosphere, we think Bananarama Beach Resort is definitely worth considering.
